IB Results

Firstly I am delighted to share this year’s IB results, which were released to students last Sunday. Our IB Diploma Programme students achieved a 92% pass rate, with an average point score of 34. We also had a significant number of pupils who achieved over 40 points, the equivalent of 4A*s at A Level, and who have secured some prestigious university places such as Oxbridge (including for Medicine and Chemistry), King’s College London, Edinburgh, Bristol and Durham. 97% of students passed the IB Career-Related Programme, with many of these pupils securing similarly impressive destinations, including industry-leading conservatoires and US sport scholarships. We were especially pleased with the performance of the CP students in their IB courses, where many pupils achieved 6s and 7s (top grades), a reflection of their success in the academic side of the programme.

Middle Years Programme (MYP) Graduation

For our younger pupils, next week will be the MYP graduation for year 9 in the Main Hall on Wednesday 16 July, marking the end of their IB MYP journey. The event will start at 5:30pm and should last for an hour.

Creative Summer Festival

For those of you lucky enough to attend this week’s Creative Summer Festival, I am sure you will have been blown away by the very high standards across all of our creative subjects. From the range of performances across the College site, to the exceptional display of DT and Visual Arts work in the Prom and Gropius Hall, it was a huge success!

FXP Festival

Earlier in the week, a group of our KS3 students went with Mr Duraliev to this year’s FXP Festival at Cambridge Regional College, an exciting computer game design and build competition for secondary school and college students. As part of the event, pupils were involved in different activities, including ‘the concept track’, where teams designed and mapped out the creative concept of an original computer game, and ‘the build track’ where teams were tasked with the build and programming of an original computer game.

They competed against approximately 14 other teams and won the game building award (one of the three categories). The team consisted of Charlie C, Muhammed B, Rodrigo Z, William P and Himaksh T. They built a game that celebrates the British railway, its history and future, allowing players to shift between present and past to experience different time periods during gameplay. The students incorporated key historical moments such as Stephenson’s Rocket and connected them with modern rail journeys, creating a game that was both educational and inventive. The game was made using industry level programming software.
