‘Hello Summer 2026’
FREE summer activities for families.
We know summer can be a challenging time for families as parents struggle to keep everyone entertained over the long summer break. This year the City Council will take off some of the strain with the release of its ‘Hello Summer’ programme which will feature a wide range of free activities taking place in community centres and parks and open spaces across the city.
This year the programme will be a mixture of bookable activities and those where families can just turn up on the day. Some highlights include – Fishing workshops, Canoeing trails and gymnastic workshops and Music in the Parks events, Family Film screenings, Active Family Sports activities, Coding workshops and much more! We will also be inviting families to join us with some special events to mark ‘National Play Day’ on the 5th July.
The bookwhen bookable workshops will go live 6th July to the public.
You can print the leaflet attached to this email or head down to your local community centre where you can pick up a copy. They will also have a local programme of activities.
We hope you have a good summer and look forward to seeing you at some of the events.
Kind regards
