She specializes in contemporary and jazz dance technique. She offers personalized lessons that cater to all skill levels.

Course Description

These classes will offer blend of ballet, jazz and modern dance technique. The goal is to promote dance technique, artistic expression, and social interaction through a structured dance program.


Aims and Objectives

  • To develop technical and artistry proficiency in both Contemporary and Jazz Dance styles.
  • To foster creativity and self-expression through movement and choreography.
  • To enhance flexibility, strength, and endurance through dance.

Objectives

  • Master basic stitches; students will learn and practice foundational stitches such as chain, singles, double and slip. Students will be given the opportunity to explore how they can create textured fabrics by combining these.
  • Read and Interpret Patterns; students will gain the ability to understand written patterns and charts.
  • Complete Crochet Projects; each week students will be given instructions on how to use the skills they learn in class to create beginner friendly projects.
  • Understand yarn and hook selection; students will learn how different yarns and hooks can change a project
  • Develop finishing techniques; students will learn how to finish projects, including weaving in ends and blocking.

Progression – what next? 

Students should progress from mastering basic movements and techniques to executing more complex and advanced combinations with precision and control. Developing dance specific vocabulary


How progress and success will be recorded

The ability to perform a small routine using the skills and techniques we have learned in lessons. Recorded through verbal feedback.


Materials / Equipment required for First Class

  • Comfortable attire
  • No jewellery
  • Hair secured away from the face.
  • Barefoot or any dance shoes e.g., Foot thongs, jazz shoes, ballet slippers
