Course Description

Learn the art of dry brush drawing, a unique technique that blends the precision of drawing with the texture of painting. This course starts with simple exercises to help you master the basics, like brush control and creating textures.
As you progress, you’ll take on more involved projects, exploring how to add depth, contrast, and detail to your work. From natural textures to expressive designs, you’ll work on themes like landscapes, still life, and portraits. Whether you’re new to this technique or looking to expand your skills, this course offers a relaxed and creative space to bring your ideas to life.


Aims and Objectives

Learn to create light and shadow for depth and contrast.

  • Creating volume: use shading to give your drawings a 3D effect.
  • Adding texture: master techniques to make surfaces and details more realistic.

This course will guide you step by step, from simple exercises to more advanced projects, helping you build confidence and skill in dry brush drawing.

An exhibition of students work will be organised at IVC.
