Course Description

This is the first module of a beginner’s Italian course designed for learners with no previous knowledge of the language. It focuses on laying the foundations for basic communication and familiarizing students with the Italian language and culture. The course uses a combination of traditional teaching methods and technology-based tools to enhance language acquisition and cultural understanding. In this module, students will learn how to greet and introduce themselves, exchange personal information with others, as well as order food and drinks at a café/restaurant.

Aims and Objectives

This first module aims to help students develop confidence in using Italian for simple, everyday situations through interactive and engaging activities. The lessons will include vocabulary-building exercises, pronunciation practice, and basic grammar explanations, along with fun activities that encourage speaking and listening. Students will also gain insights into specific aspects of Italian culture, such as the importance of body language.

Progression – what next?

By the end of this module, learners will be prepared to advance their Italian studies by enrolling in the second module of the beginner’s course.

How progress and success will be recorded

The beginner’s course is based on closely guiding and supporting students, both in class and at home, to help them make the most of their learning. There are no tests or exams: oral feedback is provided in lessons, and students wishing to submit their homework will be offered written feedback as well.

Materials / Equipment required for First Class
