It has been another busy week in College this week, with lots going on as always!
Spanish Exchange
This week our Spanish visitors have been spending time in College, on the 25th anniversary of the exchange with our partner school in Zaragoza. The students have enjoyed spending time in lessons, visiting Cambridge for punting and College tours, and completing the legendary Histon and Impington treasure hunt! We are very grateful to the families who have hosted students, and know that our pupils are very excited for their visit to Zaragoza in the summer term, for the second part of the exchange.
Music Concert
Last night was our spring term music concert, hosted by Ms Macleod in the Gropius Hall. The students were absolutely fantastic across a wide range of ensemble and solo performances! Thank you to the PSFA for providing a bar and refreshments to aid everyone’s enjoyment and raise funds for the College.
U Dance
We are very excited for tomorrow’s U Dance Festival at DanceEast in Ipswich. Our Performance School students are really looking forward to taking to the stage to perform their piece, ‘You, me and the rest of the world’, which has been choreographed by Amy Holly. The piece is stunning, and we are so excited to hear about how the students get on. If you would like to see the piece, and work from the rest of our dance students and extra-curricular groups, don’t forget that next week is our Dance Showcase (Tuesday 25 March) and there are still some tickets available via ParentPay!
History Club: message from Mrs Amin
Mrs Amin has asked for a reminder to be shared about our History Club, which runs every Wednesday during Period 0:
What is history? A question that History Club are discussing and researching at the moment. History club are interviewing a wide range of teachers about their interests and family history. Students last week were able to ask Ms Dowman about her interests in literature and in particular the lives of people in 6th century Ireland and have many more exciting talks to come including about midwifery, the Russian Revolution, studying History at university and Apartheid.
I am looking forward to going along to speak to the students in the summer term about my career as a History teacher, and what it is like to study History at university.
Year 12 Exams
This week our year 12 students started their mock exams, their first major milestone during their IB studies. We have been really impressed with how they have risen to the challenge, and are grateful to all the staff who have been supporting their preparations.
