Hear from the Principal

January 24, 2025

It has been another busy week in College! We held a recruitment event this morning, as we have launched our advertisements for teaching staff for September 2025. It was lovely to meet a range of prospective candidates, to talk to them about life at IVC and take them on a tour. We are currently recruiting into English, PE, DT, Modern Foreign Languages and Geography. Our full list of vacancies can be found here along with details of how to apply.

House Surgeries

This week we had another set of successful House Surgeries, with our Heads of House Lower and Upper School. These appointments provide a useful opportunity for parents to check in, outside of the usual cycle of Progress Evenings/reports, to discuss any progress or pastoral concerns. The next set of House Surgeries will take place in early May; details of how to book will be shared shortly after Easter.

An Inspector Calls: Norwich Theatre Royal

This week a large group of year 9 students had the chance to visit the Theatre Royal, Norwich, to see an adaptation of An Inspector Calls, which they have been learning about as part of their MYP English curriculum this academic year. As always, we try to ensure that pupils have the opportunity to experience live theatre to enrich the curriculum, and this was no exception!

Art and DT Trips: London

This week has been a very busy week for our Visual Arts and DT departments. Across Years 10 and 11 there have been two trips this week, to the Tate Modern and to the V and A Museum in London. Both trips provided inspiration for pupils’ GCSE units, for the students to gather primary source material and to look at some famous design pieces.
